Thanksgiving

With the holiday Thanksgiving already in our past, I wanted to take a moment to express my thanks. Thank you for all of you who were able to join us for a wonderful feast on Thanksgiving day. I awoke to a beautiful morning at 6 am to pop the turkey in the oven. Hoping to get some assistance from my hubby, I wasn't so lucky. I hoisted the enormous 25lb turkey into the oven. Labeled all of my dishes with sticky notes as to which dish would be in each (yes the post-it company is in business because of me!). Washed and cut up the celery and got the 3 dozen eggs for deviled eggs a boilin'. Figuring I was ahead of the game, I sat down on the couch to sip some cider and was amazed that it was not yet even 8am! What am I going to do now? So I figured Drew might as well be up with me! So to wake him quickly, the smell of fresh brewed coffee quickly crept up the stairs. My tentative time to eat was stated as 1:00 pm. All of our 24 guests were here just in the nick of time! We had everything prepared and ready to chow at 12:54am! It tasted amazing...AND we didn't run out of anything. As a little activity to remind us all of what we were celebrating on this fine day, Emma had everyone write down what they were thankful for. Once we had all filled our plates, Emma read them one by one. There was thankfulness for family, health and a mention of 'if it weren't for grandma and grandpa, we wouldn't be here' and much more. I am most thankful for the health that my family and I have been blessed with. WIth our beautiful home, wonderful schools and teachers, a husband that works beyond what a human should do, we couldn't be any more fortunate.
